Marchand-Grillot - Marvis Wine Club

Domaine Marchand-Grillot, founded in 1950 by the union of the Marchand and Grillot families, is located in Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy. It covers 12 hectares spread across 50 parcels in five villages: Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Gilly-les-Cîteaux and Brochon.
The winemaking approach involves macerating the grapes at low temperatures at the beginning of fermentation to maximize the expression of their aromas. The second approach involves minimal stirring of the must (punching down) and avoiding excessive oak aging. The result is a pronounced yet delicate fruit character combined with a very smooth mouthfeel.
The aging process in barrels, mainly sourced from local cooperages, lasts up to 18 months, allowing the wines to gain in balance and aging potential.
The estate's wines are renowned for their finesse, elegance, and structure, with aromas of crisp fruit and a pleasant salinity. Each cuvée reflects the typicity of its terroir, offering a diversity and richness characteristic of great Burgundy wines.
