A selection of Serine (Syrah) grapes from St. Joseph in the Rhône, planted in 2021 by Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet . The vines took time to acclimatize to this new terroir, a reminder that vines and terroir are inseparable . This wine displays the characteristic aromas of Syrah: floral notes and hints of licorice and pepper, but the schist soil provides an undeniable mineral foundation.
A Serine/Syrah that will delight lovers of elegant Côte-Rôtie.
Features
- Grape variety: Serine 100% (old variety of Syrah)
- Soil and Terroir : Single plot on schist with the presence of clay. Vines planted in 2001.
- Winemaking and Aging : Grapes are mostly destemmed. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and starter cultures in closed concrete tanks, without temperature control, pump-overs, or punch-downs. The wine is aged for 8 months in concrete tanks. It is not fined, and only lightly filtered. Moderate total sulfites are added at bottling (30–50 ppm).

Le Roc des Anges
Domaine familial, certifié en bio et biodynamie, est développé depuis 2008 par Marjorie et Stéphane Gallet. Leurs vignes sont situées à Montner, en territoire catalan, sur des schistes qui permettent à la vigne de puiser en profondeur l’eau indispensable pour surmonter les chaleurs inhérentes à cette région. Si vous appréciez les cépages méditerranéens, vous trouverez votre bonheur au Roc de Anges : Grenaches noirs, gris et blancs, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre… Les vignes ont pour point commun leur âge avancé (plus de 65 ans) et de très faibles rendements : avantages significatifs dans la région pour élaborer des jus fins et digestes.
