Cornas 2022

The Cornas cuvée from Domaine Auguste Clape represents the most faithful and complete expression of the estate's style: crafted from a blend of several parcels located on granite slopes, it conveys all the power and minerality of Syrah grown on granite. In 2022, no Renaissance cuvée was produced, as all of the finest selections were incorporated into this blend.

The wine is dark in color, with an intense aromatic profile blending black fruit, floral notes, spices, Mediterranean herbs, and stony aromas. The palate is full, supported by enveloping tannins, concentrated structure, and a mineral salinity. Despite its natural power, the wine retains a remarkable finesse of texture and exceptional persistence. A Cornas designed for long aging, fully illustrating the capacity of this granitic terroir to produce profound, balanced, and enduring wines.

"Reminiscent of the 2017 vintage, the 2022 Cornas reveals superb aromas of red and black fruits, violet, and bouquet garni, accompanied by gamey and ferruginous nuances. The palate is supported by fine tannins, remarkable balance, and beautiful depth, before extending into a particularly elegant finish.
