The estate's flagship wine, which can be aged for 10 to 20 years. Aged for one year, it then rests for another year at the estate to ensure it is approachable in its youth. This is a "reserve" wine, meaning that the Graillot family selects exceptional barrels during the aging process to extend the maturation. Such a qualitative approach to aging by a winemaker is becoming increasingly rare, given the investment it entails. It boasts a remarkable complexity of aromas typical of Northern Syrah: licorice, spices, olive, and very ripe black fruit. A structured wine with a very long finish.

" Remarkable with dynamism, structure, and plenty of texture. The nose reveals notes of blackcurrant, black cherry, redcurrant, violet, and warm spices. Quite full-bodied with fine tannins. Alain Graillot fut l’un des pionniers dans la réhabilitation de l’appellation Crozes-Hermitage. Aujourd’hui repris par ses deux fils Antoine et Maxime, ensemble ils vinifient des Syrah parmi les plus vibrantes et précises de l’appellation. Sa régularité sans faille dans l’excellence, millésimes après millésimes, le place dans le peloton des vignerons recherchés par les amateurs de Syrahs délicates du nord. Déguster un vin d’Alain Graillot ne s’oublie pas, tant il se distingue de l’ensemble de l’appellation : sa vinification des raisins entiers (non égrappés) et l’absence de fûts neufs confèrent aux vins une pureté de fruits et une finesse et un équilibre remarquables. Ses vins s’apprécient jeunes mais savent défier le temps, en particulier sa grande cuvée La Guiraude qui avec le Clos des Grives forment le duo des cuvées iconiques de l’appellation.
