Collection: The Mariota

Nestled in Vingrau, high up on the eastern foothills of the Pyrenees, Domaine La Mariota embodies the meeting of a powerful terroir and the dream of two passionate winemakers: Cécilia and Guillermo, an Argentinian sommelier couple with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Their vineyard, which covers 8 hectares of old vines spread between Tautavel with its schist soils and Vingrau on limestone, benefits from an extreme but ideal climate. Sea breezes cool the days, while the Tramontane, a dry wind from the Pyrenees, cools the grapes at night.

At La Mariota, the approach is resolutely organic and respectful. Vinification is carried out using indigenous yeasts, without additives (except, sometimes, a touch of sulfur) and without filtration. Aging is long and meticulous, essential for the wines to settle and reveal their complexity.

This meticulous work results in reds that are infused with remarkable drinkability, and their whites – made primarily from Grenache and Macabeu – are distinguished by their finesse, aromatic complexity, and excellent digestibility. Their precision and gastronomic character testify to the exacting standards of Cecilia and Guillermo, whose wines are already considered essential favorites of the Roussillon region.

Marvis offers you a selection of 3 wines from the estate that we have tasted and that will appeal to those looking for aromatic and elegant southern wines.
