Collection: Haut-Bergey

Located in Léognan, south of Bordeaux, Château Haut-Bergey has established itself as one of the appellation's most distinctive estates thanks to its viticultural approach and winemaking style. Acquired by the Garcin family in 1991, the estate underwent a decisive transformation starting in 2014 under the leadership of Paul Garcin, who initiated a conversion to organic and then biodynamic farming, culminating in Demeter certification. This approach reflects a quest for harmony between soil, vine, and wine. The terroirs—gravel, sand over clay, and iron veins—are expressed through distinct cuvées rather than uniform blends. The wines prioritize freshness, fine texture, and drinkability, with measured extraction and restrained use of oak. Haut-Bergey thus embodies a contemporary interpretation of Pessac-Léognan: structured, accessible, and centered on balance.

Haut-Bergey

The vineyards are cultivated using certified biodynamic methods, with soil cultivation, organic compost, and natural preparations. The harvest is done by hand, plot by plot; in the cellar, fermentations utilize indigenous yeasts whenever conditions allow. Aging methods vary—amphora, concrete, wood, or neutral containers—to suit the wine's character. The estate's signature lies in its tension, the purity of its fruit, and a precise texture that promotes length. Paul currently produces four cuvées: "Paul" (unoaked), "Jardin" (Merlot), "Tuileries" (Cabernet Sauvignon), and a white Pessac.

"A modern vision and the ability to reinvent itself without betraying its heritage: Haut-Bergey symbolizes the current vitality of the most historic of Bordeaux vineyards." - Revue du Vin de France
