Collection: The Rock of Angels

In just ten years, Roc des Anges has become an estate capable of producing Roussillon white and red wines of unparalleled finesse for the region. We had the opportunity to taste the 2023 vintage: a very expressive vintage with highly aromatic reds that are not heavy and expressive, mineral whites without excessive acidity.

Le Roc des Anges

This family-run estate, certified organic and biodynamic, has been developed since 2008 by Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet. Their vineyards are located in Montner, in the Catalan region, on schist soils that allow the vines to draw the water they need from deep underground to withstand the heat inherent to this area. If you appreciate Mediterranean grape varieties, you'll find what you're looking for at Roc de Anges: Grenache Noir, Gris, and Blanc, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre… The vines share the common characteristics of being over 65 years old and having very low yields: significant advantages in this region for producing elegant and easy-drinking wines.

"Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet's sensitivity, technical skill, and tenacity have been rewarded with well-deserved success. They have created a flagship estate in Roussillon. With vines now primarily located in Montner, a sumptuous terroir for the precise and mineral white wines they favor, they continue to plant and restructure the soils to explore new expressions in their reds. The flip side: they are producing an increasing number of single-vineyard cuvées, as exciting as they are rare." Bettane + Desseauve
