Collection: Pleasure Castle

We previously introduced you to the 2020 vintage from this rapidly rising Anjou estate. Here are the 2023 and final 2022 vintages from Château de Plaisance, whose pure and precise style of white wines has us completely captivated.
The estate's white wines, built around Chenin Blanc, impress with their purity, salinity, and aging potential. The reds, predominantly Cabernet Franc, are distinguished by a digestible and fruity expression, achieved through gentle infusion winemaking.
Since 2019, the estate has been managed by Vanessa Cherruau, a rising star in Loire Valley viticulture, who brings to bear a demanding, precise, and uncompromising vision of Chenin Blanc. She favors long, minimally interventionist aging processes, seeking a balance between mineral verticality, volume on the palate, and energy.

Château de Plaisance

Located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of the Anjou Noir region, Château de Plaisance is a historic 25-hectare estate cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods. Having followed this path for over 25 years, the estate has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 2019. Vanessa is working diligently to reveal the unique character of its exceptional schist terroirs: Chaume, Anjou Villages, Ronceray, and Savennières.
Thanks to a mosaic of plots with varied exposures and precise practices (hand-harvesting, plot-by-plot vinification, minimal intervention aging), the wines express all the vibrant minerality of Chenin Blanc and the genuine lusciousness of Loire reds. The range impresses with its consistency and its clean, straightforward, and energetic style.

"Since her arrival, Vanessa Cherruau has made this estate one of the most dynamic in Anjou. The Chenin Blanc grapes here develop a remarkable saline intensity." Revue du Vin de France
